My genre is a music video based on a local rock band as I use
their music.
The most used and obvious conventions of your average rock video is that they usually both use narrative and performance, the blend of these two combined seems to be the focus of rock videos. The narrative tends to show a romance between the lead singer and a girl or vice versa or two of the same genres, this can be shown through both action based shots or even some form of current affair. On the other hand capturing a bands or artists performance tends to be an important trademark as it shows the audience who is behind the music it creates a brand and a promotion for the band.
I will be incorporating the bands branding within the video
due to the fact it is their music so they do need promotion, also it is a major

Mise en scene is a key factor when it comes to the video as props, location and costume and even actors have to fit with the narrative and also the genre of the music, a colour always seems to be black, black is used in rock videos because it has always been associated to rock music.
Although, my video will only use some of these conventions as I will use more colours than just black, and their will be no storyline or narrative as love will not be seen within the video.
